No — Steady uses Apple Health data from any heart rate sensor to measure HRV throughout the day. The iPhone app is where you explore your insights and history.

What is HRV, exactly?

Heart rate variability is the tiny variation in time between heartbeats. It reflects how your nervous system balances stress and recovery — a well-studied signal of how you're really doing.

Is my health data private?

Your data stays yours. Steady reads HRV through Apple Health with your permission, and your measurements are never sold or shared.

Is Steady a medical device?

No. Steady is a wellness tool for understanding everyday stress patterns. It doesn't diagnose or treat any condition.

How long until I see patterns?
